gramie-and-grandpaThere was a married couple in their early 60s celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant.

Suddenly, a tiny beautiful fairy appeared on their table.   She said, ‘For being such an exemplary married couple and for loving each other so well all of these years, I will grant you each a wish.’

The wife answered, ‘Oh, I want to travel around the world with my wonderful husband.
The fairy waved her magic wand and – poof! – Two tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her hands.

The husband thought for a moment: ‘Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this will never come again.
I’m sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me.

The wife, and the fairy, were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish. So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof!…the husband became 92 years old.

The moral of this tale is – be careful what you wish for…..and remember fairies are always female!!!

FDA – Hydroxycut – Stop using Diet supplement

HYDROXYCUT – Washington (AP) - Government health officials warned dieters and body builders Friday to immediately stop using Hydroxycut, a widely sold supplement linked to cases of serious liver damage and at least one death.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the company that makes the dietary supplement has agreed to recall 14 Hydroxycut products.

Dr. Linda Katz of the FDA’s food and nutrition division said the agency has received 23 reports of liver problems, including the death of a 19 year old boy living in the Southwest.  The teenager died in 2007, and the death was reported to the FDA this March.

Other patients experienced symptoms ranging from jaundice to liver failure.  The patients were otherwise healthy and their symptoms began after they started using Hydroxycut, regulators said.

A Tribute to all who Mother on Mothers Day

This is for all women of the world – not only those mothers with children of their own – Happy Mothers Day MOM!

Time passes. Life happens.  Distance separates.  Children grow up.  Jobs come and go.

Love waxes and wanes. Men don’t do what they’re supposed to do.  Hearts break.  Parents die.

Colleagues forget favors. Careers end.  BUT………

Women are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you.

A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach.   When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley’s rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley’s end.  Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you…Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life!

The world wouldn’t be the same without women, and neither would I.  When we began this fascinating adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other every Day.

Kidney Stones Home Remedy – squeeze and strain the juice of about 12 fresh lemons (2 cups of juice) into your blender, Add 1 heaping Tbsp. Epsom salt from your pharmacy and 3 level Tbsps. Cream of Tartar from your grocery spice aisle.  Blend till mixed.  Place in a quart jar and finish filling with 2 cups of clean water.  Store in refrigerator.  Just before bed each night, drink 1/2 c. of juice, until you have taken all of it.  For some it may cause a mild laxative effect. Parrot Talk

Just for laughs – Wanda’s Kenmore dishwasher quit working – so she called in a repairman.  Since she had to go to work the next day, she told the repairman, ‘I’ll leave the key under the mat.  Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll mail you a check.  By the way don’t worry about my dog Spike.  He won’t bother you.’ ‘But, whatever you do, DO NOT, under ANY circumstances, talk to my parrot!
‘I MUST STRESS TO YOU: DO NOT TALK TO MY PARROT!!!’

When the repairman arrived at Wanda’s apartment the following day, he discovered the biggest, meanest looking dog he had ever seen.

But, just as she had said, the dog just lay there on the carpet watching the repairman go about his work.

The parrot, however, drove him nuts the whole time with his incessant yelling, cursing and name calling.  Finally the repairman could contain himself NO longer and yelled, ‘Shut up, you stupid, ugly bird!’  To which the parrot replied, ‘Get him Spike!’

Inner Ear – Vertigo – Dizziness

Recommended by an Ear Nose Throat Specialist for inner Ear Problems – he said this works much better than drugs or any other form of therapy for dizziness (vertigo) with nausea?

Have someone there to help you – sit on the edge of the bed or floor – lean to one side – then to the other side – clear down – which way seems to make you more dizzy?   Lay flat on the bed or floor on the side that you were most dizzy – use a timer and time it for 3 min. – then roll to your back 3 min – then to the other side 3 min – then sit up for 3 min – then repeat – you will spin like crazy and want to cry and stop – it helped me to hold my head while going through it – when I finished I felt relief from dizziness – my head still felt tension the rest of the day – in the morning I felt much better.  He recommended to sleep with two pillows to keep your head elevated – and for a few days do not bend down – without keeping your head up.   If your miserable it is worth a try.
