On Tuesday January 27 – 2009 our dear neighbor was diagnosed with acute Leukemia, he passed away Friday January 30 – 2009. Shock is the only way to describe how you feel with that kind of news. You wake up the next day and wonder if you had a bad dream, how can this be possible? This neighbor is the kind of father and husband everyone deserves. His family has been his first priority. What an example of faith and love this family has set for our small neighborhood. The great thing is this neighbor knows where He is going and he isn’t afraid, the sad part is he knows he’s leaving his wife and family behind, and how much they will miss each other. I have given this poem to many who have lost loved ones, I have had so many tell me of the hope and comfort this poem brings them. Helen Steiner Rice has passed on, and yet her beautiful poetry lives on. Thank You Helen for your Gift to so many! Enjoy every day, you never know when you won’t get a second chance. What a miracle to go quickly and peacefully.
Listen With Your Heart
Memories are a treasure
Time cannot take away…
So may you be surrounded
By happy ones today…
May all the love and tenderness
Of special years well spent
Come back today to fill your heart
With beauty and content…
And may you walk down Memory Lane
And meet the one you love
For while you cannot see him
He’ll be watching from above…
And if you trust your dreaming
Your faith will make it true…
And if you listen with your heart
He’ll come and be with you…
So for his sake be happy
And show him that his love
Has proven strong and big enough
To reach down from above…
And you will never walk alone
When Memory’s Door swings wide…
For you’ll find that you’re dear One.
Is always by your side.

I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly!
